As we move from the children’s program, we want to nurture a bigger, deeper, more fervent faith in our kids. Our children’s ministry is called “Aqua," meaning “water” in Latin. In the next stage, youth, we want to fan a flame for the Lord. Adding fire to Aqua makes it boil… at 212° F! So we’re calling our youth group 2:12° (two twelve). First Corinthians 2:12 says, "What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.” And that is our hope for our youth group, that they will walk in the Spirit of God and not the world.
Purpose statement of 2:12°: To lay a foundation of passionate faith that will last a lifetime
Youth Program: Presented by the 6 S’s!
The first three weeks per month, youth will attend Sunday School. The fourth week they have mentoring in small groups. If there is a fifth week, youth will sit in the service.
Our focus this year is biblical literacy. The youth will be going through every book of the Bible, learning main themes and key passages.
Service projects and mission trips will be included as an integral part of how we live out our commitment to Christ.
Friday night and holiday socials will be planned occasionally.
We’re forming a youth worship band! At Access we love our children and see them as a vital part of church life. Youth will be involved in leading and serving in the regular worship service.
Every summer we take our kids to Midsouth Summer Camp, held at Frontier Camp in Grapeland, TX.
