About Life Groups

After a long season marked by isolation and disruption, we’re looking forward to a fresh start  in our community life. We hope you’ll see participating in a life group not as an add-on to “going to church” on Sundays, but as a vital expression of “being the church.” Our groups are one of the best ways for people along all journeys of faith to experience life in the faith village and to form “spiritual friends” who will help each other grow in faith, hope, and love.

2023-2024 GROUP OFFERINGS

  • Join a group of guys seeking to help one another become better men, husbands, dads, and just human beings. Our gatherings will weave together spiritual formation, community building, accountability, and healthy doses of laughter as we form spiritual friendships and graciously challenge one another to grow in our relationship with Jesus and the people most important to us. This group is for guys who are single, married, or single again.

  • Let's create space to connect with God and each other in a low-key, meaningful way. Our gatherings will cover a mix of spiritual formation, community building, and sermon topics. There will also be time to catch up with group members each week.

You are welcome to check out the group a couple of times. Then we ask you to commit to coming regularly so that we can more readily foster a sense of community.

This group will meet the first three Wednesdays of each month from Sept-May. These meetings will be a mix of in-person and virtual meetings (7:30pm for virtual, 6:45pm for in-person for dinner). We will also have socials at least once a month. Led by Cindy Chen and Jenny Sun.

  • If you like connecting with people and God then this is the group for you! We’ll socialize, read the BIble, pray, have some laughs and share some snacks while doing so.

This group meets 3x per month at 1888 Stebbins. Led by Victor and Grace Chiao.

  • Our life group is an intentional space to experiment with living as a "faith village," where each individual matters deeply. We welcome folks in all seasons and family configurations to practice connecting with God and each other in the messiness of real life.

We meet twice a month - once on a Tuesday night online for state of soul sharing (8pm - 9:30pm) and a Friday night for dinner (normally a potluck at someone’s home).

Led by Phoebe and Linton Wong, Josh Yip, and Pastor Grace Lin.

  • Are you looking for a way to connect with others about serving,

leading and building a deeper life with God? Starting in March, we

will be having a Leadership Soul Care Group meeting on Sunday

afternoons from 1-3PM. Pastor Ted, Jessica Lewis, and Victor Chiao

will be leading the group. We will be following the book, "The

Leader's Journey" as a guide to discussion and topics.

what you can expect

We’ve found that peoples’ experiences in groups varies widely, so here’s what you can expect in an Access Life Group:

  • Expect to enter a space where you can show up authentically without fear of judgment. We want our groups to be hospitable spaces marked by God’s grace.

  • Expect to form unlikely friendships. You’ll likely connect with people you normally wouldn’t have, but this is the beauty of Jesus drawing a community together.

  • Expect to form spiritual friendships. Groups are spaces to meet partners in the faith, spiritual companions who will encourage, challenge, and help us in our journeys.

  • Expect to grow spiritually. Our life groups will intentionally expose you to new practices to help you deepen your life with God.

  • Expect to have fun, laugh, eat, and care well. Our life groups are meant to cultivate genuine life-giving connections.

Practically, groups meet online and in-person throughout the city of Houston. Some meet weekly, while others meet 1-2x per month. Most groups meet for about 1.5 hours.
